Taxi Toulouse — Moissac

Moissac houses one of the jewels of Western Romanesque art: the Abbey of Saint-Pierre, whose sculpted tympanum (12th century) depicting Saint John's Apocalypse is considered the masterpiece of European Romanesque sculpture. The cloister, with its 76 historiated capitals all different and marble columns, is France's oldest and best-preserved. The ensemble is a UNESCO World Heritage Site as part of the Routes of Santiago de Compostela. Beyond its heritage, Moissac is the capital of chasselas, a golden AOC table grape harvested in September. The lateral canal of the Garonne crosses the town with a spectacular canal bridge over the Tarn.
