Taxi Concarneau → Quimper

The Concarneau to Quimper journey is the natural link between the seaside fishing town of Concarneau and its departmental capital, Quimper, separated by just 25 kilometres through the green countryside of Finistere's Cornouaille region. Concarneau has two faces: on one side, a major fishing port — France's third by value — where trawlers and tuna boats land tonnes of fish daily, sold at auction from 6am; on the other, a renowned seaside resort whose Ville Close, a 14th-century walled town built on a granite islet linked to the mainland by a drawbridge, is one of Finistere's most visited monuments. The ramparts of the Ville Close encircle a maze of cobbled lanes lined with artisan shops, art galleries and seafood restaurants overlooking the bay. The Iles de Glenan, a paradise archipelago of turquoise waters and white sand beaches compared to the Caribbean, are accessible by boat from Concarneau port in one hour. Quimper, inland, is a city of art and history nestled at the confluence of the Odet and Steir rivers, dominated by the twin spires of Saint-Corentin Cathedral and famous for its hand-painted faience since 1690.
