Taxi Nice — Pégomas

Pégomas is a peaceful Provençal village nestled in the Siagne valley, between Grasse and Mandelieu-la-Napoule, which has managed to preserve its rural, authentic character despite its proximity to the Côte d'Azur. The commune is famous for its mimosa forests which, from late January to early March, transform the surrounding hills into a golden-yellow ocean of intoxicating fragrance. The Pégomas Mimosa Festival, established in 1931, is one of the oldest on the Côte d'Azur and attracts thousands of visitors each year for its flower parade, mimosa-decorated floats and the election of the Mimosa Queen. The village stretches along the Siagne, a small Provençal river with clear waters flowing down from the Caussols plateau to the Mediterranean, creating a green, fertile valley planted with olive trees, vines and orchards. The parish church of Saint-Barthélemy, the Chapel of Saint-Jean perched on a hill overlooking the village, and the old wash house bear witness to a modest but endearing rural heritage. The banks of the Siagne offer lovely shaded walks and fishing spots prized by locals. Pégomas is also a sought-after residential commune for its quality of life: countryside tranquillity just 15 minutes from Cannes and 35 minutes from Nice. The journey from Nice crosses the coastal Riviera landscape before plunging into the greenery of the Cannes hinterland.
