La Colle-sur-Loup is a peaceful and authentic Provençal village situated halfway between the coast and the hills of the Nice hinterland, just 19 km from Nice. Backed by the first foothills of the Pre-Alps and bathed by the Loup river, this characterful town offers a privileged setting that has long attracted artists and lovers of Provence. La Colle-sur-Loup is inseparable from its illustrious neighbour Saint-Paul-de-Vence, from which it is separated by barely two kilometres of hills covered with olive trees and pines. The village possesses its own discreet charm: an old centre with narrow lanes, mossy fountains, shaded small squares and stone houses with colourful shutters. The Church of Saint-Jacques-le-Majeur, built in the 12th century and remodelled in the 18th, dominates the village from its promontory. The Loup gorges, accessible in just a few minutes, are one of the most spectacular natural sites on the French Riviera, with their vertiginous waterfalls (the Saut du Loup, the Courmes waterfall) and limestone cliffs sculpted by erosion. La Colle-sur-Loup hosts a lively Provençal market every Sunday morning where local producers and artisans offer olive oil, goat's cheese, lavender honey and local vegetables. The village is also renowned for its gastronomic restaurants that take advantage of the exceptional local produce. The journey from Nice offers a gradual and pleasant transition from the buzz of the coast to the serenity of the hinterland.

Take the opportunity to buy local olive oil, fresh goat's cheese and honey. If you enjoy hiking, the Loup gorges are a must: the Florian confectionery at Pont du Loup (free visit with tasting) is the ideal starting point for exploring the waterfalls. La Colle-sur-Loup combines naturally with Saint-Paul-de-Vence (2 km), the Maeght Foundation and Vence for a full day of discovery. Village restaurants, notably L'Atelier des Saveurs and Le Blanc Manger, offer refined Provençal cuisine in a relaxed setting, often with lovely shaded terraces.
