Taxi Rocamadour → Toulouse

Rocamadour is one of France's most dramatic sights — a medieval citadel clinging to a 150-metre cliff above the Alzou canyon. A major pilgrimage site since the 12th century, its seven sanctuaries are reached by the Grand Staircase of 216 steps, once climbed on the knees by penitents. The miraculous chapel houses the 12th-century Black Madonna. Nearby, the Gouffre de Padirac descends 103 metres underground to a navigable subterranean river. Rocamadour AOP goat cheese is a prized local delicacy. The route south crosses the Cahors wine region, famous for its dark Malbec wines, before reaching Toulouse — the Pink City, European aerospace capital, and a vibrant university metropolis.
