Taxi Montargis → Auxerre

The Montargis-Auxerre route is an enchanting journey from the Gâtinais into Burgundy through the Puisaye, the clay-and-pottery countryside where the writer Colette spent her childhood. Auxerre is an elegant Burgundian city whose cathedral spires, abbey towers and half-timbered houses are beautifully reflected in the Yonne river. The cathedral boasts outstanding medieval stained glass, while the Abbey of Saint-Germain houses France's oldest Carolingian frescoes (9th century). Chablis vineyards are only 15 km away. With no direct train link between the two cities, the taxi is the most practical option for this scenic one-hour trip through the Puisaye bocage landscape.
