To the south, the expansive Bréviande forest stretches across 1,000 hectares of ancient woodland, providing marked hiking and cycling trails right on the town's doorstep. The Croix-Saint-Jacques neighbourhood and the housing estates built during the 1960s and 70s are home to a notably young and dynamic population. The ZAC du Mée business park attracts tertiary-sector companies drawn by competitive rents and good road access. Le Mée has no railway station of its own, so residents must rely on Melun station — served by Transilien line R offering a 25-minute ride to Paris-Gare de Lyon — but reaching that station first requires a bus or a 20-minute walk, pushing total journey time beyond an hour. The taxi via the A6 delivers a reliable 40-minute door-to-door transfer.
