The Nantes — Paris route is one of the most popular long-distance journeys in western France. With the TGV taking 2h15, many assume the train is the only option, but a long-distance taxi offers considerable advantages in many situations: large families with children and luggage (a TGV Nantes-Paris ticket costs €40-90 per person), professionals with bulky equipment, night transfers (no TGV between 10pm and 6am), or complete flexibility on schedules and exact destination in Paris. The A11, nicknamed L'Océane, is one of France's most pleasant motorways: straight, free-flowing and crossing the landscapes of Sarthe and Beauce. The 385 km journey takes about 4 hours, allowing an early morning departure from Nantes and arrival in Paris before noon. A taxi is also the ideal solution for transfers to Paris airports (Roissy CDG, Orly) without going through central Paris.

Route Nantes → Paris
Your driver leaves Nantes via the eastern ring road and joins the A11 towards Paris. The motorway first crosses the Ancenis wine country then enters the Sarthe département. The Angers-Sargé service area (km 120) is ideal for a first break. You skirt Le Mans to the south (the 24 Hours circuit is visible on the right) then continue towards Chartres through the Beauce plains. After Chartres, whose cathedral is visible from the motorway, the A11 joins the A10 then the Paris ring road via Porte d'Orléans or Porte de Versailles. Total tolls are approximately €35. The journey takes 3h45 to 4h normally but can reach 4h30-5h on Friday evenings or during holiday departures. Your driver can drop you at any address in Paris or the Île-de-France region.

Specific tips for the Nantes → Paris route
To maximise comfort on this long journey, we recommend a 15-minute break near Le Mans (halfway). The Mans-Arnage service area has quality restaurants and facilities. If your final destination is a Paris airport, specify this: the route to Roissy CDG bypasses Paris via A86/A1 (€30-40 supplement, 30 min longer) and to Orly via A10 (same price, 20 min less than central Paris). For moves or large luggage, our Van (€680) offers huge cargo space. The TGV is often fully booked on Fridays and Sundays: a taxi is the last-minute alternative. If booking a Nantes-Paris-Nantes return, we offer a preferential rate.

By car, expect €40 in fuel and €35 in tolls.
