Taxi Ajaccio — Bastia

The taxi crossing from Ajaccio to Bastia is far more than a simple transfer — it is a complete immersion into the heart of Corsica through the island's most iconic landscapes. This 150-kilometre journey follows the N193 national road, the backbone of Corsica, linking its two historic capitals across the central mountain chain. Ajaccio, Napoleon Bonaparte's birthplace, charms visitors with its spectacular gulf, golden sandy beaches and lively markets. Bastia, on the other side, is Corsica's economic hub with its picturesque old port framed by the Genoese citadel and the twin bell towers of the Saint-Jean-Baptiste church overlooking Place Saint-Nicolas, one of France's largest squares. The route traverses strikingly diverse scenery: the Gravona valley lined with centuries-old chestnut trees, the majestic Vizzavona forest of endemic laricio pines, the Vizzavona pass at 1,163 metres where the famous GR20 hiking trail crosses, and the descent to the eastern plain and Tyrrhenian coast.
