Taxi Nice — Puget-sur-Argens

Puget-sur-Argens is an authentic Provençal commune in the Var department, nestled in the Argens plain at the foot of the spectacular Roquebrune Rock, a mass of red rhyolite rising to 373 metres that constitutes one of the most iconic landscape landmarks of the eastern Var. The commune extends across a vast fertile plain irrigated by the Argens, the longest coastal river in Provence, which crosses the territory before flowing into the Mediterranean at Fréjus. The old village, clustered around the Church of Saint-Pierre-ès-Liens and the town hall, retains a few picturesque lanes and offers a peaceful Provençal lifestyle, far from the seaside bustle of the nearby coast. Puget-sur-Argens lies at the heart of a renowned wine-growing terroir: the surrounding Côtes de Provence estates produce some of the appellation's most celebrated rosés, and several cellars welcome visitors for tastings. The commune also boasts the Base Nature François Léotard, a vast 135-hectare waterfront area (in its southern part, towards Fréjus) offering beaches, trails and free sports facilities. The proximity of the A8 motorway and the Les Arcs-Draguignan TGV station makes Puget-sur-Argens a strategic transport crossroads between Nice and the western Var. The journey from Nice is fast and direct via the A8, crossing the Esterel massif whose red porphyry cliffs plunge into the Mediterranean.
