Langon is a quiet town on the left bank of the Garonne, but its name resonates as a promise for lovers of sweet wines. A few kilometres south, the Sauternes vineyard produces the world's greatest sweet wines, born from 'noble rot' (Botrytis cinerea) that concentrates sugars and aromas in Ugni Blanc and Sémillon grape berries.
