The Hossegor lake, connected to the ocean by the Boudigau canal, is a 150-hectare saltwater body offering calm swimming, water sports and walks. The Centrale district, with its surf shops, bars and restaurants, is the vibrant heart of the resort. Hossegor and its twin Capbreton (linked by the Boucarot canal) together form the most dynamic seaside hub on the Landes coast. Surf brands (Quiksilver, Rip Curl, Billabong) have established their European headquarters in the Soorts area, making Hossegor a true hub for the surf and sportswear industry. The surrounding pine forest offers kilometres of cycle paths and hiking trails.

From Bordeaux, your driver takes the southern ring road then the A63 towards Bayonne-Spain. The motorway crosses the great Landes de Gascogne forest, one of Western Europe's largest forest areas: maritime pines as far as the eye can see, clearings and fern undergrowth. You pass Salles, Belin-Béliet and the Landes de Gascogne regional natural park. After Labouheyre and Castets, the Capbreton-Hossegor exit appears. Arrival at Hossegor is via a departmental road through the coastal forest. A63 tolls amount to approximately €14. The journey is fast and smooth except on July-August weekends (holiday departures). An alternative via the coast (D652 through Biscarrosse, Mimizan, Moliets) takes 3h but is spectacular, through the finest Landes beaches.
