About this service

The conventional taxi is a scheme regulated by French Health Insurance (CPAM) enabling patients to receive partial or full reimbursement of their transport costs to healthcare facilities. To qualify, the patient must have a medical transport prescription (PMT) issued by their GP or specialist, and the taxi used must have signed an agreement with the local CPAM. Standard reimbursement is 65 percent of the conventional rate, with the remainder covered by supplementary health insurance if the patient has one. For patients with long-term conditions (ALD) — dialysis, chemotherapy, radiotherapy — reimbursement can reach 100 percent under the third-party payment system, meaning the patient pays nothing upfront. TaxiNeo provides information on all eligibility conditions and helps you find a conventional driver within our partner network. If no conventional taxi is available in your area, we offer an alternative through our standard service and guide you through the process of claiming reimbursement from your fund afterwards.

Who is it for?

ALD patients requiring dialysis sessions three times a week use the conventional taxi with third-party payment to reach the dialysis centre without paying upfront. Patients undergoing chemotherapy or radiotherapy benefit from conventional transport for their regular round trips between home and the cancer treatment centre. Elderly people with a medical prescription use it for specialist consultations, imaging examinations or planned hospitalisations. Post-surgical patients book a conventional taxi for their return home, with a transport voucher issued by the hospital.

How it works

Obtain a medical transport prescription (PMT) from your doctor. On TaxiNeo, select the 'Conventional taxi' service and enter your social security number. We search for an available conventional driver in your area. If a conventional partner is found, the trip is booked under third-party payment. If not, we offer a standard trip with a detailed invoice for you to claim reimbursement from your CPAM.
